Two-axle truck freight
General intercity cargo, economical and reliable
A solution shaped around your cargo
The two-axle truck (known in Iran as “tak”, a six-wheeler) is the busiest truck on Iran’s roads and a core part of the Mehr Tarabar fleet. Whenever your load is too much for a Khavar but won’t fill a three-axle truck or a semi-trailer, the two-axle truck offers the best balance of capacity and cost, from building materials to factory goods on intercity routes.
How much can a Mehr Tarabar two-axle truck carry?
| Feature | Details |
|---|---|
| Approx. payload | About 8–10 t, depending on model and body type |
| Gross weight limit | Under Iran’s road freight regulations (Appendix 3 of the Traffic Regulations), a two-axle truck with its load may weigh at most 19 t. |
| Maximum length | 10 m including the load; cargo may not overhang more than 50 cm at the front or 3 m at the rear. |
| Place in the fleet | Larger than a Khavar (about 2–5 t), smaller than a three-axle truck (about 12–15 t) |
Two-axle body types at Mehr Tarabar
- Open deck: for building materials, light steel, bagged cement and plaster, and cargo not sensitive to rain or sun. Easy top and side loading by crane or forklift, with a tarp and ropes when needed.
- Box (covered): a closed body for goods sensitive to moisture, dust or theft, such as appliances, cartons, packaged food and consumer goods.
- Tipper: a hydraulic body for bulk materials such as gravel, sand, soil, aggregate and debris, unloaded in one go.
Who is the two-axle truck for?
- Factories and manufacturers: shipping products to wholesalers and other cities in medium volumes.
- Building-material suppliers and contractors: cement, plaster, bricks, tiles, light rebar and plumbing supplies.
- Distributors and wholesalers: restocking warehouses and large stores in nearby cities.
- Farmers and produce traders: from orchard and field to wholesale markets and cold stores.
- Construction projects: gravel, sand and soil by two-axle tipper on short and medium routes.
Why a Mehr Tarabar two-axle truck?
- Balance of cost and capacity: carries roughly twice a Khavar’s load at a lower rate than a three-axle truck or semi-trailer.
- Better access: shorter and nimbler than larger trucks, it reaches warehouses, workshops and city streets more easily.
- Availability: two-axle trucks are plentiful in every Iranian city and are usually ready to load quickly.
- Range of bodies: open, box and tipper cover most general cargo.
When it isn’t the right fit
- Loads under about 5 t; a Khavar or Nissan is more economical.
- Loads over about 10 t; a three-axle truck or semi-trailer is cheaper per tonne and avoids overloading fines.
- Very long items such as steel beams and long pipes that exceed a two-axle truck’s legal length.
Before you book
- Give the exact weight and dimensions so Mehr Tarabar can confirm the load stays within the 19 t legal limit.
- Describe the cargo so we can suggest the right body: open, box or tipper.
- Arrange loading at origin and destination (forklift, crane or loaders) in advance.
- Don’t forget cargo insurance and the waybill; the Mehr Tarabar team helps with both.
Capacities are approximate and depend on the model, body type and each truck’s registration card. Weight and length limits follow Appendix 3 of Iran’s Traffic Regulations (road freight rules). In the quote form, choose “Two-axle truck” as the fleet type and the right body, and the Mehr Tarabar team will suggest the best option.
