Semi-trailer freight
Heavy and high-volume loads, in one go, to any destination
A solution shaped around your cargo
The semi-trailer is the largest, highest-capacity member of the Mehr Tarabar fleet. Whenever your load is heavy or bulky, or your route is long, a semi-trailer offers the lowest cost per tonne, from full loads between provinces to ports, borders and neighbouring countries.
How much can a Mehr Tarabar semi-trailer carry?
| Feature | Details |
|---|---|
| Approx. payload | About 22–25 t, depending on axles, body type and the vehicle’s own weight |
| Gross weight limit | Under Iran’s road freight regulations, the permitted gross weight depends on the number of axles and wheels; for common semi-trailers it is about 36–40 t. |
| Suitable routes | Intercity and interprovincial, ports and borders, and international road freight |
If your cargo exceeds a three-axle truck (about 12–15 t), or you want to ship the whole load at once without splitting it, a semi-trailer is the best option.
Semi-trailer body types at Mehr Tarabar
- Curtain-side and side-opening: the most common semi-trailer for general cargo, cartons, pallets and factory goods; easy forklift loading from the side, with a curtain against rain and dust.
- Flatbed: a flat deck with no walls for heavy machinery, industrial equipment, steel beams, pipes, metal structures and long or unpackaged loads.
- Tipper: for bulk materials such as gravel, sand, soil and stone, unloaded in one go by raising the body.
- Refrigerated: an insulated body with a cooling unit for food, dairy, meat, fruit and medicine; keeps the cold chain intact on long routes.
- Tanker: for liquids such as fuel, oils and permitted chemicals; the tank must be compatible with the liquid.
Who is the semi-trailer for?
- Factories and manufacturers: shipping products to distribution centres and other cities, and receiving raw materials in volume.
- Traders and exporters: moving cargo from ports and customs, and shipping to neighbouring countries and Central Asia.
- Contractors and infrastructure projects: steel, building materials, machinery and site equipment.
- Distributors and retail chains: moving goods between central warehouses in different cities.
- Food and agricultural producers: refrigerated transport of fresh and frozen products over long distances.
Why a Mehr Tarabar semi-trailer?
- Lowest cost per tonne: for heavy loads on long routes, one semi-trailer is cheaper than several smaller trucks.
- All in one: the whole load travels in one vehicle, with less handling and less damage.
- Built for distance: designed for interprovincial routes, ports, borders and international road freight.
- Range of bodies: curtain-side, flatbed, refrigerated, tanker and more, for almost any heavy load.
When a semi-trailer isn’t the right fit
- Loads smaller than a truckload; a Khavar or two- or three-axle truck is more economical.
- Destinations with narrow streets, old town centres or heavy-vehicle restrictions; the load may need transferring to a smaller vehicle at the city edge.
- Super-heavy or oversized loads that need special permits and escorts, which must be planned separately.
Before you book a semi-trailer
- Give the exact weight and dimensions; overloading is both dangerous and fined.
- Describe the cargo so Mehr Tarabar can suggest the right body: curtain-side, flatbed, tipper, refrigerated or tanker.
- Check loading facilities at origin (forklift, crane, dock) and access for a semi-trailer in advance.
- For temperature-sensitive goods, state the required range before loading.
- Don’t forget cargo insurance and the waybill; the Mehr Tarabar team helps with both.
Capacities are approximate and depend on the number of axles, body type and official weight limits. In the quote form, choose “Semi-trailer” as the fleet type and the right body, and the Mehr Tarabar team will suggest the best option.
